Hood Cleaning Frequency

We are often asked how frequently a hood system needs to be cleaned. Here is the chart taken from the NFPA Code 96 Standard for frequency of inspection. Keep in mind that every system is different and some will require more frequent cleanings than others depending on your cooking volume, the type of grease you cook with, and the amount of ductwork and exhaust fan power you have.

Our service includes cleaning the exhaust system every time, in accordance with NFPA 96. We provide steam cleaning treatment with total water capture that will leave your exhaust system guaranteed clean.

We remove the baffle filters and clean them in a complete water capture filter tub. We remove the exhaust fan and clean it inside and out. We will then clean the inside of the ductwork everywhere that is accessible to us to provide you with peace of mind. The hood will be cleaned, the filters returned, and your kitchen left safer and cleaner than before.

Contrast Cleaning Services will inspect, advise, and in most cases fix problems that we recognize as unsafe to your business. We will provide you with before and after pictures of the work completed upon request. We also provide you with an after service report which gives you further detailed information regarding your vent-a-hood system and any recommendations necessary to keep it functioning properly.
